Sarah Brickwell is an oil painter based in Issaquah, Washington. Though she was always the creative' one growing up, her true journey as an artist began in 2019 when a close friend gifted her a set of oil paints, solvents, and an easel. What started as a simple encouragement quickly blossomed into a strong passion.

Sarah first explored landscapes, drawn to the Pacific Northwest’s clouds and hillsides, but soon found her true subject: birds. Combining her love of painting with her fascination for feathered creatures, she now creates detailed oil works based entirely on her own bird photography. Many of her paintings are inspired by her birdwatching outings with her husband, often spent excitedly observing through binoculars or behind a long camera lens.

Although art school was once her dream, Sarah graduated high school in 2020, a year that changed many paths. Instead, she pursued degrees in English and Marketing (while practicing her painting in her free time) which now serve her well in communicating the stories behind her art and connecting with a broader audience.

Today, Sarah continues to paint from her home studio in Issaquah, merging her love for faith, nature, and creativity into works that celebrate the beauty, wonder and fascinating detail of God’s creation.
